![]() ![]() Like I said, a nice nitro-finished pre'63 Casino reissue at the Elitist level would certainly have me interested. I love that Clapton 000-28 but I hate that signature so I won't even consider it-and EC is probably my all-time guitar hero I don't want anyone else's name on my guitar. I think it'd be cool if Epiphone did reissue that version but only if they don't inflate the price with any endorsement deals. Now they're all through the roof and it's the '61-'63 versions everyone wants. There was a pecking order with the Sunburst '63-'67 models at the top followed by other colors of the '63-'67 era being worth a little less and then the later versions from '68-'70 and the least desirable ones being the '61-'63 short headstock version. ![]() It's kind of funny because ten years ago the Casinos were kind of niche instruments in the vintage world and had some premium but not outrageously so. ![]() Who "kept the lefty" There was only one McCartney Casino (as far as I know-but he could have a warehouse full of them)and it was a right handed one (see my avatar for a pic of John playing it before Macca even had a chance to change it over to left-handed) and he still has it so what went for $40K? If Clapton can get nearly a mil for Blackie you could probably double that mil for a Macca Casino and three mil for John's This is one of his originals sold on ebay last year' date='I think it went for over $40,000. ![]()
